This is a joint project of the following organizations:

(1) The National East Asian Languages Resource Center (NEALRC)

Founded in 1993, The National East Asian Languages Resource Center (NEALRC) is funded by the US Department of Education to foster the mainstreaming of Chinese language in American education and to expand access to the study of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean from the early grades through higher education.

(2) Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS)

Founded in 1987, CLASS is a non-profit professional organization that represents all Chinese language educators at all levels from elementary to secondary schools. CLASS advances and promotes the teaching and learning of Chinese language and culture at PreK-12 schools in the United States.

(3) Chinese Language Teachers Association (CLTA)

Founded in 1962, CLTA is a professional organization devoted exclusively to the study of Chinese language, culture and pedagogy.

(4) American Association of Teachers of Japanese (AATJ).

The American Association of Teachers of Japanese is a non-profit, non-political organization of individuals and institutions seeking to promote the study of Japanese language, linguistics, literature, culture, and pedagogy, at all levels of instruction. AATJ fosters professional development, the promotion of Japanese and foreign language education, and the exchange of research, and seeks to coordinate its activities with related organizations to promote Japanese studies, including a network of state and regional affiliate organizations. AATJ is the product of the consolidation of two national organizations: the Association of Teachers of Japanese (ATJ), founded in 1963, and the National Council of Japanese Language Teachers (NCJLT), founded in 1992.

(5) American Association of Teachers of Korean (AATK)

The American Association of Teachers of Korean was founded in 1994 for all levels of teachers of the Korean language, culture, and literature in the United States of America. Its mission is to enhance and promote an interest in the teaching and learning of the Korean language, culture and literature; to carry out research in second language acquisition, applied linguistics, language pedagogy, as well as in the teaching of culture and literature, and to provide a forum for presenting research findings.
